West Reading, PA. – Beginning Friday, November 1, more than 30 Reading Hospital team members, including President and CEO, William M. Jennings, pledged to participate in the first ever “Reading Hospital No Shave November” contest. The month-long event will raise awareness for men’s health, McGlinn Cancer Institute, and show support for the many patients undergoing cancer treatment and experiencing hair loss. At the end of the month prizes will be awarded for best beard, best mustache, and the most money raised.

To participate in the event individuals were asked to pledge $100 and are encouraged to seek additional support from their family and friends. All proceeds from No Shave November will be donated to Reading Hospital Foundation exclusively for vital projects, programs, and services at McGlinn Cancer Institute.

“Everyday our friends, neighbors, colleagues, and loved ones bravely battle cancer,” said Mr. Jennings. “We want our patients at McGlinn Cancer Institute to know that their health and wellness is important to everyone at Reading Hospital.”

“The suggestion to participate in No Shave November was brought to Reading Hospital Foundation by employees at McGlinn Cancer Institute,” said Katherine Thornton, President, Reading Hospital Foundation. “The team is always looking for ways to support the patients they care for.”
