Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County Elects New Board Member

Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County is pleased to announce that Denise Strohmayr has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors. The staff and volunteers congratulate and welcome Denise to the BCSS family.

Denise Strohmayr is a Berks County Native and is currently an Associate Professor in the Foundational Studies Division at Reading Area Community College. She has been teaching and supporting students in multiple higher education environments for over 20 years. She holds a B.A. in Speech Communication and an M.A. in Organizational Management.

Denise was recently awarded the prestigious 2020 Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty Recognition from the American Association of Community Colleges. This national award recognizes individuals who make a difference in the classroom by demonstrating passion, and showing a willingness to support students inside and outside of the classroom.

She is member of the Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Educators and serves her passion for community volunteerism as a board member for the Literacy Council of Reading-Berks and the West Chester University Family Relations Board.

She lives in Sinking Spring with her husband and is the proud mom of two college age children.
