Alvernia to Host 2022 Reading United Season

United will play its USL League Two season at a new venue

Reading United has announced that the club will play its 2022 USL League Two Season on the turf field at Alvernia University.

Alvernia will serve as United’s newest home, after the club played its 2021 season at Exeter Township Senior High School’s Don Thomas Stadium. The turf field previously hosted a pair of U.S. Open Cup games featuring Reading United during the 2018 and 2019 seasons – both United victories.

“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Alvernia University,” said Casey Moore, Reading United Head Coach.  “It will be great for our coaches and players to have a single location to call home for the 2022 season.  We fully expect the games at Alvernia to bring an enhanced game experience for our fans, players, and the local community.”

Alvernia and Reading United’s ties continue to remain tight, as the club hired Alvernia’s Director of Soccer Operations and Men’s Soccer head coach Casey Moore to lead the team prior to the 2021 season. The assistant coaches include former Alvernia goalkeeper and current assistant Rich Kessler, as well as former assistant Atif Molki. Seamus O’Connor, former Reading Rage head coach, also coaches the women’s team.

Reading will host its first regular season home match on the turf field on Saturday, May 21st at 7:00pm against Philadelphia Lone Star FC.

Tickets for all Reading United 2022 regular season matches are available at readingunitedac.com/tickets. Season tickets are only $25 prior to May 1.
