Abilities in Motion and IM ABLE launch collaboration event: IM in Motion

Abilities in Motion and the IM ABLE Foundation have collaborated to create IM in Motion, a new accessible recreation event for the community. Abilities in Motion supports recreational activities for people of all abilities and will have materials on-site to provide supplemental information for individuals wishing to continue engaging in healthy, recreational events.

Attendees can demo handcycles and bicycles, partake in exercise classes, engage in a sensory-friendly area, and pick up an Abilities in Motion Recreation Resource Guide for information on additional recreational events.

Additional local organizations will be present, including Greater Reading Mental Health Alliance, Berks Parks & Recreation, Berks County Public Libraries, Easter Seals and Lancaster Recumbent. These organizations join IM ABLE Foundation and Abilities in Motion in delivering an accessible experience for the entire community.

IM in Motion will be held at Alvernia University between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on June 17. The event is planned for outside. However, weather conditions may shift the location inside the PLEX building at Alvernia University.

From Abilities in Motion Executive Director, Stephanie Quigley: “We are very excited for the opportunity to share and showcase adaptive recreation options with the public. We would like the community to know that AIM not only provides direct service and advocacy, but we also provide connections to adaptive possibilities in all areas including recreation, technology, education, clothing, transportation and leisure activities.”
