Wyomissing Public Library to Host Two Distinctive Programs on October 22

The Wyomissing Public Library will host two distinctive programs on Saturday, October 22nd, one at 1PM and the other at 2:30 pm. Both programs are free and open to the public.

At 1 PM, Wyomissing  resident and student of all things French, Gail Dawson-White will present “The Art of Plunder.”  Ms. Dawson-White will present a history of plundering as a tool of war. Although plunder has always been part of war, dating back to the first wars, this program will focus on how it developed and was used by all parties to war from Napoleon in the early 19th Century, through Adolf Hitler during the Second World War. Ms. Dawson-White has compiled an extensive bibliography about the subject which will be available for all participants. Several of the listed titles are available at the Wyomissing Public Library.

Jayne Park-Martinez, Coordinator of Research, Planning and Assessment  and Assistant Teaching Professor in Science at Penn State Berks, will talk about Storm Water at 2:30 PM. Specifically, she will talk about storm water on your property, where it goes and how to deal with it, particularly after heavy rainfalls.

Registration is requested for both programs; email [email protected], or call the library at 610-374-2385. The Wyomissing Public Library is located at 9 Reading Boulevard in Wyomissing.

Masks will be available for those who are not vaccinated.
