Please join us on Thursday, May 18 for ‘Better Boards = Better Orgs‘. This event is designed to inform and engage community members on the roles and responsibilities of a board, and what it takes to be a truly exceptional board member. BCTV is pleased to present this program with guest speaker Laura Otten, Ph.D, founder and Director of La Salle University’s Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership and a tenured member of La Salle’s faculty. She was the Executive Director of La Salle’s Nonprofit Center from June 2001 until June 2021, and currently serves as a consultant to nonprofits.
In just one morning, you’ll learn:
- The real roles, responsibilities and expectations of a nonprofit board member
- The true purpose of a board
- What it takes to be a good board member
- What to ask yourself when deciding if you should be a nonprofit board member—now or in the future
Most people are unsure about the duties, functions, and obligations of a nonprofit board and its members. This event is great for current, and future board members, organization leaders, employees, and community members.
Being a nonprofit board member is a great way to give back and pay it forward. Learn what it means to take on such a position.
Better boards = Better orgs = Better communities.
Tickets are $50 each. Because this is important to us, for every 5 tickets sold we are ‘paying it forward’ and sponsoring an attendee from the community! Sponsorship packages also include ‘pay it forward’ tickets. We want to make this event available to lots of community members, and ‘paying it forward’ with sponsored tickets helps to share the love.
