City of Reading Reveals 275th Anniversary Parade Poster, Opens Entry Forms

The City of Reading celebrates its 275th year of incorporation this year. In March, a series of kick off events were held during the week of Reading’s official birthday on March 16. To further continue the celebrations, a parade will take place on Sunday October 1st on Penn Street.

To mark this milestone, a commemorative poster was designed by local artist Diane Faye Zerr of Faye & Company. Posters will be available on parade day at 5th and Penn.

The parade route will span the entire length of Penn Street, with performances and a grandstand at 5th and Penn. The parade will include area marching bands, floats, local businesses, community organizations and clubs. Festivities kick off at 10am and participation is free and open to the public. Those interested in being in the parade should complete the below signup form on the city website. https://www.readingpa.gov/anniversary-parade-sign-up-form

Celebrations for the 275th Anniversary are made possible through the support of generous sponsors; Customers Bank, Penske, Carpenter Technology, Visions Federal Credit Union, The Stevens and Lee Companies, Alvernia University, Tompkins Bank, Berks History Center and Greater Reading Chamber Alliance.
