Join the League of Women Voters of Berks County on BCTV on Tuesday, July 11th, 2023, 8pm-9pm, as they discuss “Berks County Whole-Home Repairs Program”

Guests include:

  • Judy Schwank, PA Senator, Judy Schwank was elected to the Pennsylvania Senate in a special election in 2011. Before joining the Senate, Senator Schwank served as a Berks County Horticulture Agent for Penn State Cooperative Extension. She is also the former President and CEO of 10,000 Friends of PA and the former Dean of Agriculture & Environmental Science at Delaware Valley College. Senator Schwank became the first female Berks County Commissioner in 2000. She currently serves as a member on the following boards: Farmland Preservation, Farm Show Commission, United Way of PA and PA State System of Higher Education. In the Senate, Senator Schwank was named Democratic Caucus Administrator for the 2021-2022 Legislative Session.
  • Ken Pick, Director, Executive Director, Reading Redevelopment Authority, Ken is the Executive Director of the Berks County Redevelopment Authority, a position he has held for over 20 years. He has been working in the community development and housing field for over 45 years and holds a BS in education. Practical experience related to his position comes from being a former general contractor, buying and selling many of his own properties, and heading nonprofit organizations. Having formerly lived in Berks County for 30 years, he and his wife now live in San Jose, CA.
  • Josh Lewis, Facilities & Housing Manager, Josh has been the Facilities & Housing Manager at the Redevelopment Authority for almost two years. He has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Kutztown University. Prior to coming to the Authority, he worked in Construction for 20 years as a Site Foreman eventually advancing to Project Manager. During the recession, Josh worked as a caseworker for the Commonwealth.
