The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) Thursday announced that nominations will be accepted beginning Monday, July 10 for the fourth Building Berks Awards & Expo slated for Oct. 25, 2023. The biannual awards and expo event is back to honor and spotlight positive economic growth and development through construction projects in the Greater Reading, Pa. community.
GRCA is seeking nominations for eligible projects completed by July 31, 2023. Projects will be evaluated by a diverse panel of judges representing various industries and backgrounds.
Applicants submitting nominations for projects are asked to include all parties involved—from the banking institution to the contractor to the municipal officials—GRCA seeks to honor everyone involved in making projects in our community come to fruition.

- Adaptive Reuse
- Agribusiness
- Building Systems
- Commercial
- Education
- Healthcare
- Historic Preservation/Restoration
- Hospitality
- Industrial
- Infrastructure
- Mixed-Use
- Placemaking – public space, public art, signage, etc.
- Residential
- Sustainable Development – projects prioritizing environmental stewardship + green building practices
- Out-of-the-Box

The event’s title sponsor is Shuman Development Group. Sponsorships are available by contacting Gantz. Deadline is Oct. 4, 2023.
Registration required: $100 for GRCA members, $130 for future GRCA members. Tickets include expo, appetizers, cocktails and awards ceremony. Register at greaterreading.org.
