BCTV announces Bradley to assume acting director role for 2023-2024

Reading, PA – The Board of Directors of Berks Community Television has announced that English Bradley will serve as the community media organization’s acting director for the next twelve months. In this role, Bradley will oversee all business operations and guide strategic projects. She has served as the administrative manager of BCTV since January 2020.

“I’m thrilled to guide our organization and team over the next year and am grateful to our board of directors for placing their confidence and support in me as we enter this exciting new season,” stated Bradley. “Our team is dedicated and well-equipped to keep our strategic projects moving forward and thriving. As with all transitions, there will be a learning curve, but I am confident this will be another year of innovation in which BCTV will continue to rise to the meet the need for information sharing in our community.”

Heather Adams, who has served as BCTV’s executive director since 2014, is taking a sabbatical from her current role to help guide the creation of a potential new Spotlight PA news bureau in Berks County. The year-long project, supported by Berks County Community Foundation, includes conducting a needs assessment and listening sessions to gain better understanding of information gaps and what kind of news coverage community members want, as well as evaluating and developing product and distribution pathways. Adams will be the Berks County Project Lead and return to BCTV as executive director at the end of the contract in June 2024.

Patricia Shermot, BCTV Board Chairperson, commented, “It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce a new chapter for BCTV. On behalf of the entire board, it is my honor to welcome English Bradley to this position, as she takes over the executive role during Adams’ one-year sabbatical. This transition marks a significant milestone for our community. We are fortunate to have an exceptional acting director who already has a passion for community engagement and transformation. In the capable hands of English and the BCTV team, we can rest assured that our programming and operations will continue to flourish.”
