B.A.R.N. Opens Nominations for 2023 Bountiful Berks Awards

The Berks Agricultural Resource Network (B.A.R.N.) is now seeking nominations for several award categories meant to acknowledge and encourage excellence in agriculture-related areas.

2023 Bountiful Berks Award to recognize individuals, groups, or projects that have distinguished themselves by achieving and/or promoting best practices in agriculture or related businesses.

2023 Agriculture Journalism Award to recognize three examples of exemplary articles, blog posts, podcasts, or television spots about agriculture published between Oct. 2022 and Sept. 2023.

2023 Agriculture Communications Award to recognize three examples of exemplary newsletters, social media posts, etc., about agriculture published between Oct. 2022 and Sept. 2023.

2023 Tressie S. Caton Women in Agriculture Award, named after Ms. Caton, a tireless and vibrant member of Pennsylvania’s Agri-Women organization, to recognize excellence in agriculture-related fields like science, economics, farming, veterinary work, philanthropy, and more.

Nominations must include a 250-word typed personal statement or testament. All applicants must live in Berks County and submit the application by Friday, Nov. 10. Please include your name, e-mail address, home address, and phone number with your submission.

Awards will be presented at B.A.R.N.’s Bountiful Berks Banquet at Leesport Farmers Market on Monday, Dec. 4, from 6-8:30 p.m. Additional information and ticket sales are available online at www.berksag.net. In-person ticket sales will be available beginning Nov. 1 at the Berks County Department of Agriculture, 1238 County Welfare Road, Leesport.
