Oh-Ranck Earns Promotion and Tenure at Albright College

MeeAe Oh-Ranck, M.S., Lancaster, PA, has been promoted to Associate Professor of Fashion Merchandising and Design, with tenure, at Albright College.

Oh-Ranck received her Master of Science degree from Jefferson University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Moore College of Art and Design. She joined the Albright College faculty in 2015.

Oh-Ranck’s scholarly work focuses on sustainability and ethics in the fashion and textile industry. Specifically, she works to discover innovative and efficient ways of design that utilize natural dyeing techniques, upcycling and repurposing sustainable materials, reviving haute couture construction techniques, and digital printing methods that minimize environmental harm.

Teaching courses such as Sustainable Fashion, Chemistry and Fabric Dyes, Fashion Styling, and Cultural Immersion in a Global Context, Oh-Ranck has been able to weave her scholarly activity into her fashion courses, creating an engaging, creative classroom while also maintaining a commitment to a liberal arts education.

Her diverse scholarly activity includes conference presentations, juried exhibitions, grant applications, and Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE) projects with undergraduate students.

Spearheading a fashion show associated with Empowering Albright Voices day, Oh-Ranck supports the college’s annual Business Day of Fashion and popular Fashion Showcase. She is also lauded for her work to develop cultural connections through study abroad and exchange programs while serving on committees that include the Enrollment Management Committee, the Visual Art Committee, and the Study Abroad Advisory Committee.
