Berks History Center Call for Volunteers

Calling for volunteers! Berks History Center is currently looking to fill a Front Desk Volunteer role in the Historical Society Museum. Click here to submit an application.

Volunteers are central to the Berks History Center’s mission. They serve as stewards of our collections, exhibits, and archives. Whether providing front-line visitor services or completing behind-the-scenes projects, our volunteers are vital in enhancing our patron’s experience.

At this time, the Berks History Center is looking for volunteers for the Front Desk to help create a warm and informative experience for our valued visitors. Learn more about the role by reviewing the description here.

Our volunteer family consists of students, stay-at-home parents, retirees, and other individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Individuals will be provided with on-the-job training in their chosen department. Besides learning new skills, meeting new people, and learning interesting things, you will be helping BHC staff preserve Berks County’s history. As a thank you, all volunteers receive free admission to the Berks History Center Museum and Research Library, a 10% discount for non-consignment items in the Museum Store, and invitations to special volunteer events.

If you are interested in applying for our available Front Desk Volunteer position or any other volunteer position, please submit an application here.

Please contact BHC’s Membership and Administrative Coordinator, Elise Duffy, at 610-375-4375 or [email protected] with any questions. We greatly appreciate your consideration!

The mission of the Berks History Center (BHC) is to tell the 300-year story of Berks County and its diverse people, with the aim of building an inclusive understanding of our impact on national history, strengthening our community, and inspiring all audiences now and in the future.
