Dr. Jennifer Koosed, Professor of Religious Studies at Albright College, will present “Religion and Insurrection: the Use of Religious Symbols on January 6th” in a Wyomissing Public Library virtual program on Tuesday, February 23rd at 6 pm. The program is free and open to the public. Dr. Koosed also teaches in the women’s and gender studies program, and the Holocaust studies program at Albright. She earned her Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University, where she also earned a Master’s degree, in addition to a Master’s from Oxford University. Much of her work addresses the Bible in popular culture and politics.
On Thursday, February 25th, the library will welcome Donald F. Smith, Jr., Esquire for a program on “The Second Founding and Voting Rights – a Review of the 15th Amendment, its Aftermath, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and Today’s Attempts at Potential Voter Suppression.” This program is also free and open to the public.
Attorney Smith is a graduate of Shippensburg University and Dickenson School of Law of Penn State University. He is the former Executive Director of the Berks County Bar Association and is currently a volunteer with MidPenn Legal Services.
