Albright College to Host Pennsylvania DECA Competition

Albright College will host and sponsor a Pennsylvania DECA competition for high school students on its Reading, Pa., campus, Tues. Dec. 7.

Aligned with National Curriculum Standards, Pennsylvania DECA competitions challenge students in the career-minded topics of marketing, business management and administration, finance, hospitality and tourism. In addition to a written component, student-competitors will interact with industry professionals on campus, serving as judges.

Winners of the Albright competition will be eligible to compete at the State Career Development Conference in late January.

Boasting 5,300 chapters across the country, Pennsylvania’s DECA chapters operate in more than 80 high schools across the state, with approximately 4,600 members in rural, suburban and urban areas. In Pennsylvania, DECA aims to enhance marketing, management and entrepreneurship education. Students develop skills and competencies for careers, build self-esteem, experience leadership, and practice community service. DECA promotes the partnership of education and business.
