BCTV Volunteer Training: Camera Operator 101

Please note this training has been rescheduled for Monday, June 29, 2020

5:30-7pm at BCTV 1900 N 13th St, Reading Pa 19604

Tight on time but want to volunteer in a way that is meaningful, creative and fits into your already busy schedule?

BCTV is hosting a Camera Operator 101 Training on Monday, March 30 from 5:30pm -7pm. During the training you’ll learn how to operate television studio cameras including panning, tilting, zoom, and switch functions; basics of studio set up; microphone placement and best practices in studio audio. You will also get an insider’s peek on the daily operation of the studio equipment, and information about your community media organization!

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, able to stand for long periods of time, should be comfortable interacting with others, demonstrate good listening skills and the ability to follow instructions and direction while maintaining good studio manners (we have to be quiet when programs are live!).

Volunteers are a large part of the studio’s success and we want you to be informed and involved. With the skills you develop in this volunteer position, your interest, and availability, you may have the option to become more involved in learning about and participating in other facets of BCTV’s telecasting and operations.

Volunteer schedules are flexible, participate five hours a week, one hour per month, or work with BCTV staff to create options to fit your schedule! No experience is necessary; we will train you!

Seating is limited (12) available so register today!

For questions about this volunteer opportunity, or to reserve your seat, email [email protected] or call 610-374-3065 x.4.
