Best Picture Showcase at Fox Berkshire

Fox Theatres is pleased to announce the 2022 Best Picture Showcase at Fox Berkshire, 800 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, for two weeks beginning Friday, March 18. Following the Academy Awards television broadcast on Sunday, March 27, the winner for Best Picture will play Monday, March 28 through Thursday, March 31.

“We are thrilled to offer our audiences one more chance to see the Academy Award Best Picture nominees on the big screen,” said Donald Fox, president of Fox Theatres.

Two different Best Picture nominees will be shown daily, one at 3pm and one at 6pm. The full schedule and tickets can be found at www.foxshowtimes.com/best-picture-showcase. Tickets for the Best Picture winner will be available after the winner is announced on March 27.

CODA is not available for theatrical release, so is not able to be included in the showcase.

About each movie:

Belfast – Belfast is the humorous, tender and intensely personal story of one boy’s childhood during the tumult of the late 1960s. Written and directed by Kenneth Branaugh, starring Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Jude Hill. Nominated for seven Academy Awards.

Don’t Look Up – In this political satire, two astronomers attempt to warn humanity about an approaching comet that will destroy human civilization. Directed by Adam McKay, and stars an ensemble cast consisting of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep. Nominated for four Academy Awards.

Dune – A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, Dune tells the story of a young man who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. Adapted from the 1965 novel, the film was written and directed by Denis Villeneuve and stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, and Rebecca Ferguson. Nominated for ten Academy Awards.

West Side Story – Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story presents a new look at the classic musical about the potential of love and the rivalry between two teenage street gangs – White working-class Jets and Puerto Rican Sharks – in 1950s New York City. Starring Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, and Rita Moreno. Nominated for seven Academy Awards.

The Power of the Dog – This intense Western psychological drama of love, grief, resentment, and sexuality was written and directed by Jane Campion and based on Thomas Savage’s 1967 novel of the same name. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Nominated for twelve Academy Awards.

Nightmare Alley – This neo-noir psychological thriller film was written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, based on the 1946 novel of the same name by William Lindsay Gresham. The film stars Bradley Cooper as a charming and ambitious carnival worker with a mysterious past who takes big risks to boost his career. Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, Mary Steenburgen, and David Strathairn also star. Nominated for four Academy Awards.

Licorice Pizza – “Licorice Pizza” is the story of Alana Kane and Gary Valentine growing up, running around and falling in love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973. Written and Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film tracks the treacherous navigation of first love. Stars Alana Haim, Cooper Hoffman, Sean Penn, Tom Waits, Bradley Cooper. Nominated for three Academy Awards.

Drive My Car – Forced to confront painful truths raised from his past, renowned stage actor Yusuke — with the help of his young driver, Misaki — to face the haunting mysteries his wife left behind. Adapted from Haruki Murakami’s short story, Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s Drive My Car is a haunting road movie traveling a path of love, loss, acceptance, and peace. Japanese with English subtitles. Nominated for four Academy Awards.

King Richard – Based on the true story that will inspire the world, “King Richard” stars Will Smith and follows the uplifting journey of a family whose unwavering resolve and unconditional belief ultimately delivers two of the world’s greatest sports legends – tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams. Nominated for six Academy Awards.
