Large Donation Made The Robot Zoo “Come Alive” at Reading Public Museum

The Reading Public Museum greatly appreciates Highmark and Penn State Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center for their generous donation of $50,000 towards one of its most popular exhibits, The Robot Zoo. This exhibit has been a hit within our community.

The Robot Zoo, and its 8 robotic creatures have been a highlight for RPM visitors of all ages this summer, with many families coming back more than once! Hands-on components give families the opportunity to learn about scientific concepts and biological differences. Topics included echolocation in bats, compound eyes in flies, camouflage, and building their own robot using gears and joints.

“This was a big hit with our kids there today on a field trip!” and “Our granddaughters really enjoyed the Robot Zoo today, as well as the rest of the museum!” were comments from grateful visitors. The exhibit continues until Monday, September 4, 2023.

The Museum values our donor’s support tremendously. This recent gift helps us to continue our goal to bring engaging and enlightening experiences to individuals, families, and schools.

The Reading Public Museum is supported in part by grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and is located at 500 Museum Road, Reading, PA. Admission per day is: $10 adults (18-64), $6 children/seniors/college students (w/ID), and free to Members and children three years old and under.
