Stephen T. Gieringer, NHS of Greater Berks, INC, Reading, PA was recently named to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership Council. NSBA is the nation’s oldest small-business advocacy organization and operates on a staunchly nonpartisan basis. Gieringer, a recognized leader in the nonprofit community, joins the NSBA Leadership Council alongside other small-business advocates from across the country as they work to promote the interests of small business to policymakers in Washington, D.C.
“As a small-business owner and nonprofit leader, I see daily the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulation,” stated Gieringer. “Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take our collective small-business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress.”
Stephen T. Gieringer is the Executive Director of Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks, Inc since August 7, 2017, and passionately orchestrates the “Home Buying Experience” for First Time Home Buyers in the low to moderate income demographic.
After spending nearly 18 years in real estate, Steve knows how hard it can be to navigate the perplexing and sometimes tumultuous process of achieving the American Dream in the inner cities of Pennsylvania. His Team at NHS of Greater Berks has been recognized as an Exemplary Organization within the NeighborWorks America network and has educated more than 1,000 prospective homeowners during his short tenure. NHS of Greater Berk’s philosophy is to attack blight and poverty with a simple yet effective approach – “House by house, block by block and neighborhood by Neighborhood – we are all building stronger communities together.”
Gieringer joined the NSBA Leadership Council as part of his efforts to tackle the many critical issues facing small business, including tax reform, regulatory restraint, health care costs and how access to capital will impact small business. The NSBA Leadership Council is focused on providing valuable networking between small-business advocates from across the country while ensuring small business a seat at the table as Congress and regulators take up key small-business proposals.
