Muhlenberg Announces Upcoming Community Events at Jim Dietrich Park

The Muhlenberg Township Parks and Recreation Department has announced three upcoming events at Jim Dietrich Park to kick-off summer!

Join The Muhlenberg Township Parks Department for the Spring Flea Market at Jim Dietrich Park’s grassy parking lot on Saturday, May 13th with a rain date of Sunday, May 14th from 8AM to 1PM to see if you can sell some of your treasures for cash.  This is a new location for this event so please note the changes in reservation procedures.

Space sizes are 20’ by 20’ and are located in the grassy field area next to the farmhouse. Specific spot numbers are not reserved but will be assigned as you enter the event.  If you want to be next to someone, please arrive together. You can reserve as many spaces as you want and your car can be parked in your space. Tables are NOT provided as part of your $15/space rental fee.  Set up starts at 6:00AM, so please do not arrive earlier.

Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Muhlenberg Community Library fund raising group, so the sale of food or drinks of any kind is prohibited.  The sale of weapons of any kind, counterfeit/fake merchandise, illegal fireworks and alcoholic beverages are prohibited on park property.

Mark your calendars now so you won’t miss out on the great deals.  Pre-registration is required for we only have 130 spots available.

The Department is also planning a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 29th at 9AM at Jim Dietrich Park near the flag pole.  Our program will consist of Staff Sergeant Joel W. Sharp and State Rep. Mark Rozzi as speakers.

The posting of the colors will be done by Muhlenberg Boy Scout Troops #161 and #155.  Music will be provided by a Brass Choir from the Muhlenberg High School under the direction of Mr. Nathan Mohler.  Wreaths will be laid in honor of Gold Star families, Fallen Police Officers, Fallen Fire Fighters and all military branches.  Light refreshments will be served afterward at the park’s pavilion.

Please join us as we recognize those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our nation.  Bring your own chairs, please.

SPRING FIESTA 2023 is being planned for Jim Dietrich Park on Saturday, June 10th from 11AM to 9PM.  With this beautiful park as the backdrop for Spring Fiesta, which is a food and music festival with at Latin flair, it will be worth a visit.

Our live entertainment will include: Brenda Rodriguez, The TRiBE, Papo Buda & The Latin Jazz Giants and Empresarios from Washington DC to round out the night.  Other entertainment will be bull riding, face painting, temporary Henna Tattoos, a balloon artist, piñatas, crafters, and direct sales businesses and Fireworks at 9PM.

Various food vendors will be there to satisfy your taste buds for Latin inspired food (Tlacuani, Marisol’s Bakery, Mi Casa Su Casa, Castenada’s, Taco Revolution and more), plus ice cream by Mad Waffles and shaved ice by Kona. To quench your thirst, we will have frozen margaritas, Pina Coladas, beer, and lemonades.
