PA Has More Time to Buy 2021 Health Coverage

Harrisburg, PA –  Pennie, the Commonwealth’s new health insurance marketplace, has expanded service options and the shopping period for individuals seeking coverage that begins New Year’s Day. Individuals and families now have until Tuesday, December 22 to enroll in a plan at pennie.com for coverage that begins in January. Customers seeking assistance from the Pennie call center can also take advantage of expanded evening hours. Now through December 18, Pennie’s call center will be open from 8am – 9pm for customers and the Pennie-certified assister and broker networks.

Through Pennie’s “no wrong door” policy, Pennie is able to connect all Pennsylvanians to the coverage that is best for them and their budget. Nearly 9 out of ten customers qualify for financial aid to help lower the cost of coverage and care. Those who are uninsured or who may have recently lost their employer-sponsored coverage due to the COVID-19 pandemic are encouraged to seek coverage. Anyone looking for coverage to begin on January 1 should visit pennie.com or call 1-844-844-8040 before December 22.

Anyone who misses the December 22 deadline can still apply for health insurance through Pennie until the Open Enrollment deadline on January 15 for coverage that begins in February.
