Berks Arts Council Announces Funding Opportunity for Arts Projects and Organizations

Reading, PA—Berks Arts Council (BAC) is pleased to announce that grant applications are now open for the 2017-2018 Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) Project Stream grant program. PPA is a partnership between local organizations and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA). Funding is available through the PPA re-grant program for art programs and projects in Berks, Lancaster and Schuylkill counties for arts projects that will take place September 1, 2017 – August 31, 2018.

Berks Arts Council will host grant-writing and information workshops on the PPA Project Stream in support of this program. Workshops are free and open to artists and non-profit organizations in Berks, Schuylkill, and Lancaster counties. Workshops are scheduled for the following dates and times:

• Tuesday, May 9 at 5:30 pm • Louis Long Gallery at GAPS; 128 N. Fifth St.; Reading, PA 19601

• Wednesday, May 10 at 5:30 pm • The Ware Center; 42 N. Prince St.; Lancaster, PA 17603

• Thursday, May 11 at 5:30 p.m. • The Walk In Art Center; 220 Parkway Ave.; 2nd Floor; Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972

Now operating in all 67 counties in Pennsylvania, PPA re-grants funds to support a wide variety of local and community arts activities. The Project Stream provides grants up to $2,500 to eligible organizations or individuals to conduct arts projects. Since its creation in 1996, PPA has demonstrated enormous success in achieving the PCA’s mission and goals.

The mission of Berks Arts Council is to cultivate, support, and promote the arts in our community through collaboration, education, and presentation. Berks Arts Council presents the Berks Jazz Fest, Bandshell Concert Series, Pagoda Awards, and Fast Lane Art, administers the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Re-Granting Program, and provides art exhibition and marketing opportunities for member artists.
