Dr. Ed Laquidara is the founder and curator of Animal Adventures, New England’s largest privately owned animal rescue center of its kind, and head speaker and animal handler for EdLaquidara.com, an exotic animal rescue and education organization. Laquida and his animal friends will visit the college on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at 6 p.m. on the Perkins Student Center Lawn. This event is free and open to the public.
A passionate wildlife conservationist and educator who has been rescuing exotic animals for more than 35 years, Laquidara and his team deliver hundreds of lectures and seminars each year to private organizations, corporations, science centers, museums, public and private schools, universities and colleges, and many other venues. Laquidara, who holds a Ph.D. in zoology, is recognized as a leading crocodilian biologist and herpetologist (specialist in amphibians and reptiles). He is highly sought after by professional and state organizations to teach animal and environmental control officers how to safely capture and handle wild and exotic animals.
