Alvernia’s Hovel Earns UCHC Honors

Rochester, NY (Jan. 15, 2020) – Women’s Ice Hockey freshman Isabelle Hovel earned UCHC honors for her performance during the week of January 6th – January 12th.

Hovel was named UCHC DIII Women’s Goalie of the Week after recording 49 saves in a win over Post University on Saturday. The 2-0 win was Alvernia’s first shutout in program history. Hovel also made 47 saves for the Golden Wolves in a 7-2 setback on Monday at Cortland.

This is the second week in a row that Alvernia has earned UCHC honors. Julia Beaven and Olivia Gilida were named Goalie of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, last week.

Women’s Ice Hockey continues on the road on Saturday, January 18 at William Smith College.
