Albright College to Host Vagina Monologues

Reading, PA – In recognition of gender-based violence, Albright College will offer a free performance of V-Day’s “The Vagina Monologues” on March 6 at 4 p.m. in Roop Hall, located in the college’s Center for the Arts.

Written by playwright Eve Ensler, The Vagina Monologues is an eye-opening series that explores the experiences of womanhood. Albright College students will perform the heartbreaking, prominent and comical monologues — adapted from an award-winning one-woman show that rocked audiences around the world.

V-Day is an organization that promotes creative events to increase awareness, and raise money in the global fight to stop gender-based violence and the silence that surrounds it. Through V-Day’s campaigns, thousands of motivated individuals across the globe have hosted V-Day benefit events, using The Vagina Monologues and other artistic pieces curated by V-Day to raise money for local organizations working to end violence against women. In the age of prominent movements and rallies such as #metoo, the March for Women, and the Time’s Up campaign, organizations such as V-Day prove to be especially prominent.
