In celebration of September’s National Pet Insurance Month, Zuber Realty and Zuber Insurance partnered with Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue, East Greenville, PA, to restock their food and supply shelves that benefit a variety of animals that have lost their homes.
“Logan’s Heroes were very grateful to receive our donations,” noted agent and Community Outreach committee chairwoman Jody Dolansky. “We filled up their dog food storage closet with well over 100 different items ranging from dog and cat food to treats, rabbit bedding, toys, and bedding,” she continued.
“We’re especially grateful to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Liberty Fire Company, New Berlinville, PA, and K-9 Cottage, a doggie day care center, Pottstown, PA for their generosity,” JoCarol Zuber, Certified Insurance Counselor of Zuber Insurance added.
Zuber Insurance office was the drop-off point in Boyertown for donations. Zuber Realty’s satellite office in Royersford provided a second location. “Our insurance office in Boyertown was filled with donations which we happily accepted,” Zuber shared. “It was very heart-warming and showcased the love and loyalty folks feel for their pets.”
“The Mutts-N-Munchies Event, held in East Greenville on October 2, 2021, offered a fun day for dogs and their families with great food, vendors, pet portraits and treats for dogs,” said agent Allison Heist. Food trucks and a free reusable shopping bag were provided. A free doggie bag, water bowl and special treats for dogs were offered through the purchase of a VIP Passport during the event.
“Pets are family; feeding and caring for them are essential services. And sometimes, when times are tough, a little extra help in providing pet food and supplies for dogs, cats, small animals, and livestock is needed,” offered Dolansky.
“And, just like the rest of our family, sometimes our pets need medical care, and it can get expensive,” noted JoCarol Zuber, Certified Insurance Counselor, “Pet insurance helps remove financial barriers from pet care decisions, and there are a variety of plans to suit different needs,” she continued.

Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue
Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue was founded by Chris Baringer, an experienced animal rescuer and also a trained humane police officer for Pennsylvania, in 2014 to help save the overflowing numbers of unwanted commercial breeder dogs and those in high-volume kill shelters. The organization is all foster-based for their dogs to give the dogs the time they need to find the right match for a forever home. The rescue is named for a beloved late German Shepherd puppy named Logan that was fostered by Baringer many years ago.
Baringer’s 20-year experience in animal rescue helped the non-profit organization grow quickly starting in December of 2014. The organization expanded from just dogs and cats with the moving the organization from out of her home to a 54-acre farm with the goal of providing safety to larger animals—horses, cows, and pot-bellied pigs.
Logan’s Heroes farm has a goal to expand rescue efforts for farm animals. Their plan includes adding more shelters and fencing for large animals like horses, cows, goats and pigs. The organization already has approval from the township to add another barn, an indoor arena, riding ring and quarantine field for new arrivals to prevent spread of diseases. Once these buildings are in place the organization will be searching for a mental health professional to help them build a veterans program using the rescued farm animals as a form of therapy.
Fundraising is on-going, Logan’s Heroes first project for the farm is the Pig Pen and Friends project. The project’s goal is to raise $100K to rebuild a dilapidated building on the farm to safely house more pot belly pigs, add a run-in and more fencing for the rescues three cows, (Ella, Jolene and Amber) and build new barn for Nemo a very large market pig that survived a fire two years ago. To date the rescue has raised $25K towards the project and construction for the first phase is planned to start in January 2022. Donations are always happily accepted and needed to continue rescue efforts. Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer organization and volunteers are always needed and welcomed to help the organization grow.
“It’s difficult to gain support for larger animals, but my 20-year vision is to leave a legacy of helping all animals in need while providing veterans with a safe place to work and heal, as needed, from trauma experienced from their service to our country.”
Baringer’s current menagerie includes 2 dogs, 4 foster dogs and 4 foster cats. The rescue currently supports animals in over 40 foster homes. Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue can have as many as 80 dogs and cats in foster homes, and also supports 3 horses, a pony, a mini-horse, three cows, two goats, eight pot belly pigs, and Nemo, the big pig at the farm.
