4th Annual Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS 5K Run for Shelter

The Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® (R-BAR) will host their 4th Annual 5K Run for Shelter benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Berks County and Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks, Inc. on Saturday, October 7th at Gring’s Mill Recreation Area. Proceeds from the race help to increase neighborhood revitalization, create additional housing opportunities, and provide safe homes for deserving families’ right here in Berks County!

Enjoy a scenic morning run or walk along the Tulpehocken Creek during this professionally timed event. The course follows along the Union Canal Trail with turn around at Stonecliffe Recreation Area parking lot. It is a flat & fast course with a mixture of packed cinder & pavement.

Awards will go to the top three male and female 5K finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in the following age group categories: 14 & under, 15 – 18, 19 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 – 69, 70+.

This event is open to all ages and capabilities. Running the course is not required and many enjoy walking the course with nature all around.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., race begins at 9:00 a.m., awards begin at 10:00 a.m. All entries submitted by September 1st will receive the early bird discount of $20 and a guaranteed t-shirt, while entry fee after September 1st will be $25 and a t-shirt while supplies last. Other fun for the day includes a post-run reusable goodie bag, refreshments, a DJ, and free parking. Entrants can register online at www.realestateinberks.com/5K.

The 5K Run for Shelter will be held rain or shine, and fees are non-refundable.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to support R-BAR’s October Food Drive benefiting Helping Harvest.
