Penn State Extension will offer a virtual live webinar entitled “Meat Goat Production and Management Home Study Course” from Feb. 7, 2024, to March 21, 2024.
Interested in running a meat goat operation? Meat Goat Production and Management Home Study Course is for goat producers interested in improving their production practices and, ultimately, the profitability of their operation. This is a home study course with an additional offering of optional supplemental webinars to review and discuss course materials.

How does this course work?
- Select your study option. Choose how you would like to receive course materials:
- Internet/Email
- Domestic Postal Service
- Lessons are mailed or emailed weekly for six weeks. The first lesson will be mailed or emailed on Feb. 7. Participants have the option to purchase a thumb drive of materials or a printed copy of materials.
- Read weekly lesson materials and complete the worksheet.
- Return the worksheet and any questions to the instructor.
- Attend three optional webinars to review lesson materials and lesson worksheets.
- Worksheets ask questions about your individual operation. You will receive personalized comments and suggestions for ways to improve your operation. If you don’t own meat goats yet, simply answer the questions based on what you plan to do.
- The link to access the webinars will be provided immediately upon registration. Participants without internet can join via telephone call-in.
