LightHouse Women & Children’s Center at Hope Rescue Mission is excited to announce that we have received a generous donation from Chick-fil-A’s Leap Day Giveaway. The donation comes from the proceeds of a percentage of sales on Feb. 29 from the operators of three Reading-area Chick-fil-A branches; Jonathan Stone of Chick-fil-A 5th St. Hwy. (Temple, PA), Scott Keiser of Chick-fil-A Broadcasting Square (Wyomissing, PA), and Shawn Filby of Chick-fil-A Exeter (Exeter, PA).

“This was the second time our three restaurants used Leap Day, which is an extra day of sales for us, to benefit a local organization in our community that reaches Berks County at large,” said Melissa Synder, Chick-fil-A Exeter’s Marketing Director. “Scott Keiser had a presentation from LightHouse at his church in November 2023, and suggested this organization be our recipient for this donation. Chick-fil-A 5th St. Hwy. also partners with Hope Rescue Mission through Chick-fil-A’s Shared Table program, where we donate our surplus food to help reduce hunger and food waste.”

In response to this wonderful gesture, Kate Alley, Executive Director of LightHouse Women and Children’s Center, expressed deep gratitude: “We are thankful to Chick-fil-A for selecting LightHouse as a beneficiary of their Leap Day Giveaway. This generous donation will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the women and children we serve. Chick-fil-A’s commitment to being an organization with a strong and caring culture where everyone is treated with dignity aligns perfectly with our values, and we are honored to have their support.”
