Students and guests were treated to a celebrity appearance last week at ReadingFilm’s 5th Annual Five Minute FilmFEST Awards Ceremony at Albert and Eunice Boscov Theatre at Goggleworks Center for the Arts in Reading. Emmy® nominated actress Janeshia Adams-Ginyard co-presented awards with ReadingFilm Executive Director Cammie Harris to the top three student winners. ReadingFilm Board President Tracy Schott moderated the ceremony with Reading High School students Ellyssa Elliott and Tina Boateng leading the Q&A with Ms. Adams-Ginyard

In addition to awards and cash prizes, the first place winner will be shown at the StudentFEST during the 9th Annual ReadingFilmFEST, October 26 – 29th.

The Student Award Ceremony was made possible with support from Berks Community Action Program, Centro Hispano, GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, Doubletree by Hilton and Reading School District. A private reception followed the ceremony including local dignitaries and students was sponsored by Customers Bank.

The Five Minute FilmFEST is an annual ReadingFilm challenge for Berks County High School students and 2022 graduates. Student filmmakers compete for trophies, cash prizes, and well-deserved recognition. Students were invited to submit a film five minutes or less using these categories as a guide: Documentary, Action Sports, Commercials, News Story, Sports, Comedy, Animation, Short Narrative, Horror/Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Music Video, and Influencer/How-to.
